We are also running Scheme for Financial Assistance to selected States/UTs for Skill Development in Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector.
We also aim to equip non-college- bound high school graduates with sufficient work-skills to command family supporting wages. What we see around us in the fast-growing Indian economy is a veritable paradox. While employment avenues are increasing rapidly, they are not being filled by people with compatible skill-sets. Unemployment, therefore, continues to rise inexorably. The result is perpetuation of poverty, right in the midst of opportunity, so in this end we are running a skill development program (ESDM). The Scheme is proposed to target students studying at IX/X standard onwards, ITI, Polytechnic, under-graduate (non-engineering) and also unemployed youth who are school dropouts from 8th pass onwards, ITI Certificate or Diploma holders, graduates from non-engineering background.
