Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) implemented by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). The objective of this Skill Certification scheme is to enable Indian youth to take up industry relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood.

Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM) is one of the Government of India scheme for helping the poor by providing skill training. It replaces Aajeevik. DAY-NULM rest on the
foundation that the mobilization of urban poor households to form their own institutions is an important investment for an effective and sustainable poverty reduction programme. These
institutions of the poor would partner with local self-governments, public service providers, banks,private sector and other mainstream institutions to facilitate delivery of social and economic services to the poor.

Skill Development in Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector’ was approved by DeitY in November, 2013. A total of 90,000 persons are to be supported under the scheme in the selected States in 5 levels of vocational skill development courses recognized by NIELIT/Electronic Sector Skill Council/Telecom Sector Skill Council.
The Scheme aims at enhancing the skilling capacities in ESDM sector through public and private sector for
students/unemployed youth belonging to other disciplines by: Utilizing the existing human resource who are undergoing studies in schools (IX standard
onwards)/ITIs/Polytechnics/UG Colleges (non-engineering) and the school drop outs/unemployed
youth by providing them with additional skills that are recognized by industry for employment in ESDM
Seekho aur Kamao (Learn & Earn) – A central scheme for Skill Development of Minorities.
The Scheme will aim at upgrading the skills of the minority youths in various modern/traditional vocations depending upon their educational qualification present economic trends and the market potential. which can earn them a suitable employment or make them suitably skilled to go for self employment.
The scheme will be implemented for the benefit of 6 (SIX) notified minority communities under National commission for Minorities Act 1992 ( Viz. Muslims, Christians, Shikhs, Buddhist, Parsisand Jains). However in the States/UTs where some other minority communities notified by respective State/UT Governments
The Hunar Se Rozgar Tak (HSRT) program is a free training initiative by the Ministry of Tourism (MoT) to help young people develop skills for the hospitality and tourism sector: Under the Umbrella Scheme of “Capacity Building for Service Providers (CBSP)”. In this scheme, financial assistance is provided to selected institutes to conduct Skill Development Programmes. The program is aimed at targeting persons with not much means and in need to acquire skills facilitative to employment
